What is your Sacred Commitment in 2026?

Why sacred vows work better than New Year's resolutions.

Hello Beautiful Community!
Look at us trying new things. It's January and connecting on a new day - Sunday Funday! Why? Bottom line: change is good. We learn by stretching ourselves in new experiences and ways of thinking. Period.
Truth talk: every January comes with a lot of noise. So much so that it can be hard to know who to trust for guidance. We’re bombarded with messages to resolve, to fix, to improve, to set goals, to become “better" or greater "successful." But I’ve never believed that January requires correction.
The word resolution implies that something is wrong. And I don’t believe that’s true. You are whole exactly as you are: naturally creative, resourceful, and complete. And frankly, I hope you love yourselves just the way you are.
We know nearly 80% of people abandon their resolutions by January 12th - which is why the second Friday of January is called Quitters Day (lol). For years, instead of resolutions, I’ve chosen a Word of the Year (and then carried it to month and day) Why? Because this word is not just a word, it serves as a compass and a source motivation. This process has become one of my rituals, a practice rooted in deep reflection and listening rather than pressure.
This year, the word that came forward was Momentum - not forced or fast, but steady, embodied, and aligned. It emerged from a deep breathwork session. The foundation has already been laid; now it's time to continue what I've built.
And then I took it a step further - because of course I did...it's me! Rather than committing to who I want to become, I know who I AM. I already know and love her. Instead, I chose to commit to how I want to live - fully alive. I have made a sacred vow, a sankalpa to myself: a devotion rooted not in outcomes, but in integrity and truth.
Three vows emerged that are now guiding how I’m entering 2026:
2026 Sacred Vow
Momentum -
Let it be easy.
Let it be true.
Align with you.
My inner dialogue went something like, "Michelle, when you live within this trilogy, momentum naturally follows."

Over the past year, I’ve noticed how many of you - my trusted community - continue to read, save, and return to my longer reflections, especially those rooted in personal growth, coaching, breathwork, and wellness. These pieces ask for more space, more nuance, and more room to land in deep reflection.
Because of that, as we step into a new year, I’m choosing to continue to go deeper with my writing on Substack, a space designed for longer-form reflection and conversation. It allows me to share this work more fully, without rushing or trimming what wants to be said or read.
I shared a much deeper reflection and suggestion on Substack on sacred vows, why they create more sustainable change than resolutions, and how alignment, not force, is what actually creates momentum.
This way of listening, to breath, truth, and alignment, quietly and sometimes loudly informs my work and the spaces I hold for myself and all of you. There will be more opportunities to explore it together in the months ahead.
But don't worry, my friends, I will never be at a loss for words here. You can continue to expect reflections, invitations, and shared opportunities for growth through these emails. There are so many exciting things to come this year, guided by courage, love, thoughtfulness and deep kindness. My hope is that it not only supports you, but also inspires you to choose to do the same in your own lives and worlds.
Be well. Do well.
All my best,
