Why Empowering Women Has Always Mattered to Me
Hello Beautiful Community!
These women above have all shaped my life and motivate me to show up every day. As we celebrate International Women’s Day today, I’ve been reflecting on something that sits very close to my heart. For the past eight years through EmpowHer Purpose, my work has been centered on one mission — empowering women. That mission didn’t start in business, it started much earlier.
Service has always been one of my core values, something deeply instilled in me by my mother from a young age. I grew up in a household of three girls, surrounded by the strength, complexity, and resilience that women carry. And today, life has come beautifully full circle. I’m now the mother of three daughters myself.
In fact, my oldest daughter just celebrated her 22nd birthday on Friday, which still feels surreal to say out loud. They always say it goes fast, and they’re absolutely right. I now have two adult daughters, with one more incredible young woman still making her way through high school.
Being raised in a house of three girls, and now raising three girls myself, has given me a deep appreciation for the beauty, the emotion, the conversations… and yes, occasionally the chaos.
Honestly, it’s probably no wonder I eventually found my way to breathwork, ha! Sometimes the best advice really is the simplest: Ahhh… just breathe.
Breath has this incredible way of bringing us back to ourselves — to clarity, to calm, to presence — especially in a world where women are often carrying so much. Being a mother of daughters has deepened my commitment to this work even more.
Empowering women isn’t just about careers or confidence — it’s about supporting women in their whole lives.
Their health.
Their wellbeing.
Their voices.
Their leadership.
Their ability to understand and care for their bodies and energy as they move through every stage of life.

Be Empowered: Breaking Menopause Myths with Dr. Kudzai Dombo, MD
This week on the Opportunity Knocks podcast, I had the privilege of releasing a powerful conversation called Be Empowered: Breaking Menopause Myths with Dr. Kudzai Dombo, MD and Director of Advocacy & Outreach at Alloy Health.
We discussed something that affects every woman who lives long enough - menopause - and why for generations women were never fully educated about these transitions in their own bodies.
That conversation felt especially meaningful as we head into International Women’s Day, because empowering women starts with knowledge, access, and community. It’s also one of the reasons I created the Soul-Full Women’s Wellness Gathering, happening Saturday, March 21 in Santa Monica.
This gathering brings together an extraordinary group of voices across integrative health, longevity science, nutrition, movement, mindset, and emotional wellbeing — all centered around supporting women in living vibrant, informed, and aligned lives.
For me, this work has always been about service - to women, to community, and to the next generation of women coming behind us, including my own daughters.
So this International Women’s Day, I’m celebrating the women who came before us, the women walking beside us, and the young women who will carry these conversations even further.
And if things ever feel overwhelming along the way… remember the advice I learned from living in a house full of girls: Take a breath.
