Don't Mistake the Wobble for Weakness: It's Part of the Walk!

I can't believe there are 35 days left until Christmas!?! Wow. Especially for the year I thought would never come to an end! This is a story about the wobble not the gobble gobble gobble. Ha!
At this time of year, it’s normal to feel a little wobbly. We start reflecting on the year: where did we grow, where did we stumble, and what truly matters as we head into the next season?
A friend said something to me recently that stopped me in my tracks: “Michelle, sometimes it’s just OKAY to be wobbly.”
That landed deeply. It reminded me that surrender doesn’t mean giving up, it means allowing. Allowing life to unfold in its own divine timing. Allowing yourself to rest, reframe, and realign.

This year, 2025, has been a trust walk. A year of courage, amplification, and transition. One week I’ve felt like an eagle soaring high and the next like I was trudging through mud. But through every wobble, I’ve learned that balance isn’t something you hold onto, it’s something you move with. To flow.
At this time of year, I begin my reflection process on my own growth journey, and I do this with my clients too. It's an important process to see, celebrate and acknowledge one's growth and evaluate where to invest your energy as we approach the new year.
This wobble season has also reminded me of my Word of the Year: Amplify. What surprised me most was that amplification didn’t mean doing more, it meant becoming more ME. It showed me that real expansion often happens in the quiet… in the slowing down… in the receiving. As I look toward the new year, my intentions feel rooted in that same truth: to be a bridge between corporate and spiritual worlds, to translate complexity into clarity, and to guide from a grounded, aligned place. That’s where coaching can be such a wonderful tool: because support helps us set the stage for the year ahead with purpose, integrity, and vision. We don’t expand by forcing; we expand by aligning. By doing less, so that we can receive more.

I grew up with the playful jingle:
“Weebles wobble, but they don’t fall down.”
Remember those toys? They’d tilt side to side, almost topple, but somehow always bounced back upright. This is exactly what came to me when my friend gave me permission to wobble, in the same way I give my clients permission to do the same, whether that be in yoga or great transitional changes of life.
What a metaphor for life.
Because the truth is—we all wobble.
We all have seasons when we feel a little off-balance, uncertain, or not fully on our “A-game.” But wobbling doesn’t mean we’ve failed. In fact, it often means we’re in the middle of a powerful shift.Being wobbly is not weakness, it’s humanity.Wobbles show up when life stretches us: starting something new, grieving a loss, transitioning into a new season, or simply being tired. Instead of resisting the wobble, what if we surrendered to it? What if we saw it as a teacher? This is my consistent perspective and choice - for example when I am in a yoga class I promise you I do not hit or hold the pose every time but I do not give up - I pause, breathe, reframe and try again. That is how you become and expert at anything: through consistency and practice.Research shows that times of disruption often lead to deeper growth and resilience. The wobble slows us down so we can reset, realign, and strengthen.
When you’re in a wobble, your natural instinct might be to push through, but sometimes the most powerful move is to pause. This is one of my greatest life lessons and the antithesis of what we were taught.

Breathwork is one of my favorite tools during these times. The breath anchors us back into the body and regulates the nervous system. Each inhale says, “I am here.” Each exhale says, “I can release what no longer serves me toward my highest good.”
• Releasing to heal is part of the wobble process. Tears, movement, or even silence can be medicine. Wobbling cracks us open, and in that crack, the light shines in.
• Seeking support matters too. We weren’t meant to balance all of life alone. Lean into trusted friends, coaches, therapists, or communities. Connection reminds us: you’re not falling, you’re simply finding your footing again.

When the ground feels shaky, your values are what steady you.
Values are like an inner compass, reminding you of who you are, what you stand for, and what truly matters. In wobbly moments, values keep you from drifting too far off course. They don’t stop the wobble, but they help you wobble with integrity.
Ask yourself:
• Am I wobbling because I’m living out of obligation and detached from my values?
• Or am I wobbling because I’ve drifted away from them?
Either answer points you back to alignment.
Three Ways to Stop Judging Your Wobbles
1. Reframe the Story: Instead of “I’m falling apart,” shift the language to “I’m rebalancing.” Words shape reality.
2. Practice Compassionate Curiosity: Ask: What is this wobble teaching me? Is it urging me to rest? To change direction? To trust more deeply?
3. Honor the Bounce-Back Cycle: Like the Weebles, you will rise again. The bounce-back doesn’t have to be fast; it just has to be aligned with who you are. Trust that strength is forming underneath the shake.

The wobble isn’t the end of the story. It’s the sacred in-between—the place where reflection becomes wisdom, where surrender builds resilience, where values guide you back home, and where compassion deepens self-trust.
So the next time you feel wobbly, don’t rush to judge yourself. Don’t confuse the shake for the fall. Instead, breathe deeply, release what you don’t need, lean into support, and remind yourself:
“Weebles wobble, but they don’t fall down.” Neither do you.
Be well. Do well.
All my best,
