Find your Opportunity: Let's Fly!

Updated: Jul 30

Picture this: You’re in Napa, high above the clouds in a hot air balloon. There is a beautiful sunrise off in the distance. You feel utter awe and at one with nature; peaceful and weightless. Your mind becomes still. You feel the balloon continue to rise as you rise with it. Probes of fire ignite, so do you. You look into the distance and see things from a whole new perspective. The music plays a familiar tune, “Cha - Cha - Cha - Changes… Turn and face the strange… Time may change me but I can’t trace time.”

But one thing we know to be true is that time does not stand still unless of course you are doing breathwork. Ha! Your time is NOW. It’s time to fly that is… Time, as we say in coaching, is an illusion, an excuse that we put before us as an alibi for why not! Here’s a perspective shift: Change is not happening to us; it’s happening for us. We can choose to be a bystander to it or participate in it. Why not take the latter stance.. People often do not address what they want but spend all their time avoiding what they don’t want or know to be true.  We always say “I'll have time later” or “It can wait,” but then we never have time later! If you have that feeling that change is necessary, take action! I promise the best time is always right now.

Many women wait until they are feeling so much self-doubt that they are paralyzed - why not start now and grow with yourself…. WHO AM I?

Playing the values game and aligning your mind with your heart is the key to turning the uneasiness of change into growth.

Change is the one thing that’s always constant and one of my favorite topics. On one hand, change is scary and definitely makes us uncomfortable. On the flip side, change is thrilling and is how we can access new opportunities! I like to view change through the lens of the second option—exciting! Sometimes, we tend to wait for some significant upheaval to make a change in our lives. We wait for our kids to move out to start a new endeavor or spring to come to do that deep clean we’ve been putting off all year. But growth is always present. It’s waiting for us to grab it by the hands and run.

I just had my second child graduate high school and she will be off to college in the fall. That’s now ⅔ of my children out of the house. This is tough for any parent but I am constantly grateful for the risk I took 7 ½ years ago to launch EmpowHer Purpose. There was no certainty nor was it great timing but I had faith and took the chance to create my dream. Part of embracing change is getting curious and uncovering parts of yourself that you may have never met before. It’s how we grow!

I’d like to emphasize that you do not need to wait to reinvent yourself. You can take charge now and embrace all that you would like to become. Transformation is not a linear path. There will always be twists and turns. Sometimes, the door will get closed, but don’t worry! When one door closes, another opens and ushers us inside. I wanted to provide you with (5) Ways to Fly in the face of change or fear.

Five Ways to Embrace Change & Fly:

  1. Name it & Claim it! - ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

  • An important part of the process is to slow down and acknowledge the emotion. When you feel the fear of change, don’t suppress it. Allow it to surface and release it.

  1. Get Curious - TUNE IN!

  • This step requires us to not only listen to ourselves - our TRUTH, but to allow ourselves to play and discover the unknown. A great way to improve your overall well-being is to incorporate play into your daily life! Give yourself some you-time.

  1. Trust your gut - INTUITION Don’t overthink it - SMALL STEPS BIG GAINS

  • 85% of women who trust their gut intuition end up being more accurate than those who don’t. Yet so few people really trust what they know to be true. Honing our intuition is a gift to the soul. Next time you have that nagging feeling take the leap and listen!

  1. Lean on community

  • I always say this because it needs to be emphasized. In this life, you will inevitably need support. Find your community and help each other GROW! If you're reading this, you’re already a part of my community.

All (5) of these tools require self-talk and a disciplined mindfulness practice. We covered this topic on one of my favorite Opportunity Knocks episodes with my friend Kalika Yap

While we’re on change and transformation, what better way to ground yourself in your reinvention than to join us on our soul-celebration retreat to Bali?! Awaken your soul’s purpose and leave with countless tools on what’s next in your life. We do not want you to miss out on this opportunity with a few spots left for this fun-filled annual Bali retreat. Join us from Sunday, September 29 - Sunday, October 6.

We all have things that we would like to change but for some reason we never got to it. The best moment to make that change was then, but the second best time is right now.  Embracing change is a journey that doesn't require waiting for the perfect moment—it's about seizing the opportunities in front of us and taking bold steps forward. Whether you're flying through the picturesque sky in a hot air balloon or navigating the twists and turns of life, remember that transformation is an ongoing process, complete with unexpected doors waiting to open. Trust your instincts, quiet your doubts, and lean on your community as you venture into new territories. Embrace the Cha Cha Change!

Be well. Do well.
